Directions to Rutherford


Directions to the Polk County Health Department from McDowell County

Coming from Marion you will take Sugar Hill Road turn right onto Cove Road turn right onto Bills Creek Road. Continue to the end. You will go past the Library and Fire Station. At the stop sign turn right onto Highway 64. Continue on Highway 64 until you come to Larkens Restaurant. It will be on your right. Turn left onto Highway 9. Continue on Highway 9 to Highway 108. Take Highway 108 into Columbus. At the second stop light; you will turn left onto Walker Street. (You will see a church on your right and a Polk County Sheriff’s Dept. building to your left). Continue toward the stop sign. Before you get to the stop sign, you will see a building to your left. That building is the Polk County Health Department.

OR

From I-40 take exit 85 onto 221 South all the way through Rutherfordton to the 74 Bypass. Head West to Columbus. Use exit 161 (Tryon/Spartanburg – 26 East/To 108). The off ramp is a big curve. At the stop light turn left onto 108 East. You will go past Burger King, CVS, Wendy’s. At the next stop light you will turn right onto Walker Street. Continue on Walker Street. As you approach the stop sign, you will see the building to your left and pushed back from the road a little. That is the Health Department. (You will see an EMS building off to the left from our building.) At that stop sign you can turn left and then immediately to your left will be a driveway.
