Flu Vaccine Information

It is time to be vaccinated for the flu. There are several things you can do which will help prevent the spread of the flu. Please visit our Flu Prevention page at http://www.rpmhd.org/flu/prevent.htm.

The Rutherford Polk McDowell District Health Department will be holding Influenza Shot Clinics over the next few weeks. Please check back to this page to obtain an updated clinic schedule and information.

Currently all flu clinics are for individuals who are Senior Citizens or considered High Risk. High Risk Adults meet the following criteria:
*  Adults ages 50 and older
*  Adults with long term health problems
*  Adults who live in the home with people who have chronic health problems

Medicare Part B and Medicaid will pay for the flu vaccine. If you do not have Medicare or Medicaid the cost will be $30.00. Please bring your Medicare Card (Red, White, and Blue Card and your Part D card). If you have Medicaid you must bring your medicaid card. Please bring your social security card.

In addition to Senior Citizens and High Risk Adults, the Rutherford Polk McDowell District Health Department will be holding Flu Clinics specifically for Children. Flu Vaccines are free for children who meet the following criteria:
*  Ages 6 months through 5 years
*  Ages 6 years through 18 years with Chronic Medical Conditions: (Asthma, Diabetes, Renal Dysfunction, Metabolic Disease, Hemoglobinopathies, or immuno-deficiency disorders
*  Children that live in the home with people who have chronic medical conditions

You must bring your child's immunization record, Medicaid Card, private insurance card and social security card.
