Asthma

Asthma is a long-term lung disease that inflames and narrows the air-ways.

Common signs and symptoms of asthma are:

• Wheezing (a whistling sound when you breathe)
• Chest tightness
• Shortness of breath
• Coughing.

If you or your child has any of the symptoms above, ask your Doctor about asthma.

If your child has asthma, talk to your school nurse and your doctor about an Asthma Care Plan.

• Secondhand smoke
• Pets
• Cockroaches
• Mold
• Cold air
• Pollen
• Dust mites
• Exercise
